What Is Organic Agriculture?
Organic Agriculture is a production management system that supports a polyculture of crops, a diverse insect ecology and enhanced soil microbiology.
No toxins or synthetics are used. Only those materials defined legally as "natural" in origin are allowed.
Through extraordinary emphasis on plant health and balanced nutrition, organic agriculture can produce food of superior health and nutrition.

How do I know your produce is organic?
"Organic" is legally protected. Use of the term "organic" is now defined and regulated by the US Department of Agriculture.
Compliance with the standards of production on Angel's Organic Farm is inspected and approved by USDA-accredited Oregon Tilth.

Why is organic produce more expensive?
When you purchase an organic product, you are paying to protect the water you drink, the air you breathe, and the soil in which your food is grown.
You are buying what you hope to be a more nutritious, better tasting, and residue-free fruit or vegetable. You are also paying to protect the health of farmers, farm workers and the health of our planet.

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
CSA is a movement to bring farm producers and community members into a more direct and cooperative relationship.
The concept migrated to the US from Japan in the mid-1980's and has grown to include some 1,000 farms and 100,000 community supporters throughout the US and Canada today.
Community "members" subscribe to a weekly share of produce from a local farm, which is delivered to a convenient "site" in the member's neighborhood. This relationship facilitates both financial support for a small farm's community and provides supporting members with fresh and unique produce to which they would otherwise have less access.

Why join a CSA?
You receive very fresh produce.
We deliver most produce within 24 hours of harvest, assuring your food will be nutritious and delicious. The average food item in supermarkets has traveled 1300 miles since harvest. This results in a focus on extending shelf life rather than the flavor or nutrition of food. Even local produce may be shipped to central warehouse facilities before it arrives in a neighborhood grocery store.

You are introduced to new varieties of seasonal produce.
We grow superior and unique varieties not available in mass market grocery outlets. Our newsletter is filled with creative ideas on how to prepare and store your fresh produce. For families that just can't get enough of a good thing, we offer "Organic Abundance" in addition to your family's weekly box. Abundant seasonal produce items are offered in quantity by special order. This is a bonus for people who love to do canning, make juice, or share with friends and family.

You will know where, how, and by whom your food is grown.
More information emerges daily linking health to diet and the quality and freshness of the food we eat. The choice of your family’s farmer is as important as choosing your pastor, your doctor or your lawyer. We take the responsibility of growing your family's produce very seriously.
To enrich your experience and knowledge, farm visits are welcome - we have an annual farm day where we invite you and your family for a farm tour and festivities.

Your food dollar sustains a local farm.
A similar purchase at a supermarket may return a farmer as little as 20 cents on the dollar. By participating in our CSA you are supporting the farm’s community of year-round employees. Steady work improves the quality of their lives as well as the greater community.
Your financial support is a vote for organic, family-based farms as the backbone of our agricultural production system, and a stand against global and political greed as well as world pollution.

At this time we have suspended our CSA Program... Stayed tuned for updates!!!!
